WELCOME!
This is an informational page for the Tolland County Pug Meet group. If you're here, then hopefully you're a member checking on events, or maybe you're interested in joining us. We welcome any pugs, pug mixes, or similar small breeds to join our group.
You can also find us on Facebook under groups. We are Tolland County Pug Grumble. It is most helpful if I can either tell you have a pug by your Facebook profile, you are friends with one of our members, or if you send a message so I respond quickly.

WHO WE ARE
We are a group of pug, pug mix, and other small breed dog owners in the Tolland County area. Our group began in March 2010, and we're still growing and perfecting.
Our main purpose is to get our pugs together to play and socialize. It's also useful to have connections with other pug owners who have experience with the breed.
WHAT WE DO
We have several different kinds of events that you will find listed to the right in the "Upcoming Events" section.
Our main goal is to have outdoor meets. This gives the pugs a chance to socialize, play, and get outside for some exercise! We have all types of pugs in our crew, from those who love to play together and get a little silly, to those who would rather just sit with the humans. Our outdoor meets take place at the South Windsor Bark Park in South Windsor, CT. These meets take place on the weekends, usually on Sundays.

There are also occasional Ice Cream Nights, which take place at Leaps and Bones in South Windsor, in Evergreen Walk. These are usually summer night meets during the week. Leaps and Bones offers a variety of doggie ice creams, and we get a chance to sit and chat while the pups enjoy their treats. They also usually draw a crowd of pug admirers! We also attend most of the Summer Concert Series at Evergreen Walk, where you can bring your pug and enjoy the concert.

We also try to plan human lunches at the Corner Pug in West Hartford, where the decor is pug-focused, and you can even bring in a photo of your pug to add!
In addition to both of these, there are also special events that we support each year.
The major one is the Pug Rescue of New England Social, which is on Columbus Day weekend every year. This is a huge event, with hundreds, if not thousands, of pugs. There are races, costume contests, various other contests (curliest tail, most wrinkles, etc), doggie massages, and tons of pug gear. And that's only the beginning, it's a really fun day! And best of all, it gives publicity to pugs up for adoption and proceeds go to help the rescue.

Every year we also support the dog events at Evergreen Walk. There is Paws on the Promenade in the spring, and Howl-o-ween in the fall. Howl-o-ween is much more fun with the costume contest, but both feature dog treats and goodies, photos, and a pet psychic.
We have also started a yearly tradition of a Puggy Picnic in September at Wickham Park, which is a beautiful venue. We have a pot-luck picnic, and then take a nice long walk through the gardens. It's beautiful.
WANT TO JOIN?
We love new members! Please join us, even just to try it out. If you're interested, there are a couple of ways to get in touch.
If you're on Facebook, you can look us up in groups and join our group. Facebook is a recent move for us, to keep down costs. It's useful for keeping up on events and information, interaction with other members of the group, and ease of RSVPing.
If you're not on Facebook, you can also just e-mail Amanda, and ask to be added to the e-mail list. You can even do both!

Thank you for checking us out, and we hope to see you at an event soon! If you have any questions, either e-mail Amanda, or leave a message on our Guest Book below!
